Someone Posted My Naked Picture on Facebook

One of the most common questions I received is that someone posted my naked picture on Facebook, can I do anything?

The answer is yes! It is possible that if someone posted your naked picture on Facebook, you can sue them for civil damages or report them to the police for committing a crime.

Facebook’s Terms of Use prevents someone from posting a naked picture online. Facebook explicitly says “You will not post content that: is hate speech, threatening, or pornographic; incites violence; or contains nudity or graphic or gratuitous violence.”

If you learn that someone posted a naked picture of you, you can immediately report their account.

First, click on arrow next to the post:

Next, click on the “I don’t like this post” tab.

Facebook will then ask you what is wrong with the post.  Click on the “I think it shouldn’t be on Facebook tab.

Finally, click on the tab that states “it’s pornography.”

Facebook will then prompt you to submit it to them for review:

The naked picture will then be removed generally between 24 to 48 hours.
