DS&A Wins Motion for Partial Summary Judgment Against Client’s Alleged Abuser

New York County Supreme Court Judge Arlene P. Bluth, J.S.C. granted Plaintiff’s motion in June.

In a decision dated June 27, 2023, Judge Arlene P. Bluth, J.S.C. granted our client’s motion for partial summary judgment as to liability against Defendant Ryan Broems.

Plaintiff’s lawsuit, which was believed to be the first to be filed under New York City’s nonconsensual pornography statute, alleged that Defendant Ryan Broems had uploaded the intimate content and engaged in other harassment, including doxxing and threats, in retaliation for Plaintiff ending their relationship.

Attaching a transcript from a criminal proceeding in which Defendant Ryan Broems admitted to posting intimate images of his ex-girlfriend; a statement of material facts; and Plaintiff’s Affidavit, Plaintiff’s Motion for Summary Judgment argued there was no genuine dispute as to any material facts in the case.

Dr. Cooper’s victory was covered by the New York Law Journal.
