New Jersey Jury Finds Math Teacher Disseminated his Former Student’s Intimate Content

A jury in Ocean County, New Jersey determined that Defendant Christopher Doyle had violated K.C.’s right to privacy by disseminating her intimate images online.

As reported by Insider, on August 18, 2023, an Ocean County jury found in Plaintiff K.C.’s favor, awarding compensatory damages in her lawsuit against her former math teacher, Defendant Christopher Doyle.

Plaintiff’s case included testimony from feminist social psychologist, Dr. Asia Eaton; trauma expert and licensed clinical social worker, Julie Roebuck; a custodian of records for Optimum; Plaintiff K.C.; and others.

A Motion for Summary Judgment filed in 2022 outlined how our firm was able to determine Defendant Christopher Doyle’s responsibility for posting the images by way of subpoenas issued to the website on which the images appeared and later his cable provider.

The seven-person jury determined that Defendant Christopher Doyle had publicly disclosed private facts concerning K.C. and had violated New Jersey’s law against nonconsensual pornography.
